Elmer Sherman Follmer 1861-1942

Elmer Sherman Follmer was born on December 3, 1861 at Watsontown, PA to William Henry and Elizabeth Hayes Chamberlin Follmer.  Sherman graduated from Cornell in 1885 and was listed as an attorney.

Sherman was a member of Watsontown Lodge No. 401 being raised Master Mason on May 7, 1884.  Sherman was elected Chief Burgess in 1889 and was elected again in 1890. He resigned May 12, 1890 — the first Chief Burgess to do so. He also resigned May 28, 1890 from the Masonic Lodge.  Sherman left the area in 1898 and settled in Seattle, Washington where according to Cornell Alumni News dated April 17, 1901 he was was a member of the firm E.S. Follmer & Company, dealers in Washington Red  Cedar Shingles.

Sherman died on August 21, 1942 and is buried at Watsontown Cemetery.
