DANIEL FRANK WAGNER 1849-1930

Daniel Frank Wagner was born in Limestone Township, Montour County on September 18, 1849 the twelfth child of Daniel and Catharine (Follmer) Wagner.  He spent his early life on a farm and acquired his education in the township schools.  He became a citizen of Watsontown when his mother moved here on December 31, 1868.  Shortly after he began to work at the planing mill and in 1874 took a financial interest in the business.

Frank married Mary I. Cooner, daughter of William and Elizabeth (Reader) Cooner, on November 22, 1882.  They had one daughter, Clara C. who in 1886 died at the age of one. 

Frank Wagner served on town council from 1886 to 1888; then as Chief Burgess from 1903 to 1906; and then on town council again from 1908 to 1910.  He has been an original member of the Hope Hose Fire Company in 1873 and served as Chief of the Fire Department for a number of years.

Mrs. Wagner died in 1918.  Mr. Wagner died September 5, 1930.  They are buried at Watsontown Cemetery.
